Tallow is an incredibly nutrient-dense fat that comes from cows. It’s been used traditionally & sustainably by our ancestors for soaps, creams, candles, and cooking. It’s loaded with fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E and K as well as niacin and conjugated linoleic acid. Its fatty acid content is primarily saturated and monounsaturated, which means it won’t oxidize easily like many of the seed-oil based lotions on the market. Because tallow is rendered from an animal, its fats & nutrients are compatible with our skin and readily available for us to absorb and utilize. It can reach deeper on a cellular level to nourish skin compared to plant oils. It’s basically like giving your skin the highest quality multivitamin supplement! We exclusively use raw, unprocessed cocoa butter to ensure that all the nutrients and beneficial compounds are maintained in the final product. Its natural cocoa aroma gives our body butter a warm, pleasant scent.

This lightweight oil is compatible with skin's natural sebum. As a result, it agrees with the skin, doesn't clog pores, and can help to balance your skin's natural oil production. It absorbs well and makes skin soft and supple. Unlike many other products on the market, jojoba oil is low in polyunsaturated fatty acids, so you don't need to worry about it oxidizing easily and causing more inflammation. Jojoba oil also nourishes the skin with vitamins A, B, C, E and minerals.

Calendula is a beautiful orange wildflower that has been used traditionally by herbalists for centuries for its anti-inflammatory properties. It gently reduces redness and calms irritation. It's rich in antioxidants that neutralize free radical damage from the sun & environmental toxins. Calendula can also increase the flow of blood to the surface of the skin to help support healing of scars and blemishes. Unlike many products that might include only a small amount of calendula extract, we infuse whole, dried calendula flowers directly into the entire batch of body butter during the melting process and let it infuse for 6+ hours on very low heat to extract maximum benefits.

Drops of potent vitamin E oil act as an antioxidant to help naturally preserve the shelf-life of the product.

A tiny amount of arrowroot powder is added during the whipping process to help maintain the butter's whipped texture. It also reduces the feeling of greasiness before the product fully sinks into the skin.
