What is a coaching session like?As soon as you hop onto our calls together, it's you time. Our sessions will be very conversational and will be a space where you will be fully heard and respected, something you may not experience with other types of prenatal care. As a health coach, I will be your ally who walks through your journey with you and provides personalized support each week wherever you’re at. Pregnancy can bring up a lot of questions and challenges. I provide guidance, accountability, and reflection as you make lifestyle changes and healthy habits that are optimal for your body and baby. We will take a natural and holistic approach, and turn to tradition, your own intuition, and scientific evidence for guidance. We'll be sure to address the core 6 topics: nutrition, movement, mindset, rest, toxins, and birth prep, and there will also be space beyond that to talk about anything else that comes up for you (i.e. nausea, hip pain, fears about childbirth, baby bonding, nesting, preparing for post partum, etc). Our sessions are also a space for you to process the mental, physical, and spiritual transition into motherhood. I will be available for you over text throughout the week for the little things that come up in between our sessions, whether it’s a question or a little win you’d like to share. If this is resonating with you or you have any questions, let’s have a free 20-minute consultation call to see if we’d be a good fit!

How are you different than a doula or midwife?Midwives can run tests and see you in person to do exams and health checks, as well as being present at birth to deliver your baby. Doulas play a hands-on role to support you physically and emotionally through labor and/or postpartum in ways like cooking you meals. As a health coach, I walk alongside you through the prenatal journey before birth. I give you real-time, personalized guidance on the lifestyle changes and optimal health habits for you and your baby. We can go beyond physical health and process through the emotions of pregnancy, the mental prep for birth, and the spiritual transformation of motherhood. In addition, as you will find while pregnant, there’s a ton of conflicting and sub-optimal information out there on the many decisions you make throughout pregnancy and childbirth, and I am here to guide you through evidence-based information so you can advocate for yourself with confidence.

When should I sign up for health coaching?Any time! My program is tailored to meet you wherever you are at, no matter the trimester. If you expect baby to arrive soon, you can opt for the shorter 6-week plan, or at any point you may wish to choose the 6+ month plan and have coaching support through your post partum experience too. If you want to continue coaching past the plan you initially chose we can of course extend our time frame and continue our sessions together as long as you'd like. No matter where you are at, we can chat about timing and what will serve you best on a free 20-minute consultation call.

I'm not pregnant yet. Can we still work together?Absolutely! The preconception period is an essential time to prepare yourself for pregnancy and birth -- for example, building up nutrient stores, balancing hormones, building up the muscular strength that pregnancy and motherhood require, making the mind-to-muscle connection with your pelvic floor, clearing the toxins out of your home, unpacking your preconceived beliefs about pregnancy and birth... the list goes on. I would be happy to connect with you and talk about how we can work together. Book a free consultation call with me!
